Trades Kirk 250th Anniversary

The Deacon Convener and his team have been planning the Service to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the completion of the Trades Kirk in 1774. It remains today one of Dundee’s few 18th century buildings still in existence.

On Sunday 2nd June, to honour the occasion, there will be a Nine Trades procession. The plan is to meet at the High School of Dundee Car Park at 10.15 am. There will then be a procession led by pipers to the Church with the Service beginning at 11.00 am. (Car Parking is available at the School).

The Deacon Convener, The Lord Provost (or representative) plus the Deacon of the Three and the Lord Dean of Guild (or representative) will lead the procession to the Church followed by the Deacons and Past Deacon Convenrrs and also other dignitaries and members of all organisations who are involved. There will be a group photo taken at the end of the Service. The Deacon Convener hopes there will be a good support from the Nine for this important and significant occasion.

The above is all weather dependent and health permitting. If, for either reason, the procession is too much you would be more than welcome to join at the end once the procession reaches the Church and please attend the Church Hall at 10.30 am and watch for its arrival.
