The Nine Incorporated Trades of Dundee held their biennial dinner at the Woodlands Hotel, Broughty Ferry last night – bringing together members and guests for an evening of fellowship, reflection and celebration.
Deacon Convener John Fyffe MBE welcomed attendees to the event, while Worthy Chaplain Anita Kerr said grace before guests enjoyed a three-course meal.
During the evening, John Fyffe proposed the Loyal Toast, followed by Barry Ferguson, Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships at V&A Dundee, who delivered the Toast to the City of Dundee. The toast was replied to by Lord Dean of Guild, Ivor Morton, on behalf of the city.
The Deacon Convener of the Seven Incorporated Trades of Aberdeen, Ian McIntosh, then proposed a toast to the Nine Incorporated Trades of Dundee.
Guests were also entertained by the evening’s speaker, Lord George Robertson of Port Ellen, who reflected on his time studying at the University of Dundee and shared insights from his distinguished career with NATO.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Paul Leigh, Collector of the Nine Incorporated Trades of Dundee.
The dinner provided an opportunity to recognise the valuable contribution that the Nine Incorporated Trades continues to make within the local community. It also offered members the chance to renew friendships, share memories and enjoy an evening of camaraderie.
Overall, the event was a fitting celebration of the organisation’s enduring commitment to charitable work and community service throughout Dundee.
