We are delighted to share that Trades member Deborah Lloyd has had her poem selected for publication in Autumn Voices, an online literary newsletter.
Written in response to a creative prompt based on the number nine, Deborah’s poem was inspired by the striking stained-glass reflections on the concourse at Ninewells Hospital. Reflecting on the rich history and enduring legacy of Dundee’s Nine Incorporated Trades, she created a beautiful praise song celebrating the crafts, traditions and communities that have helped shape our city.
Deborah recently read the poem to fellow writers at The Poetry Well, which meets at Tayport’s Larick Centre, where it was warmly received and enthusiastically encouraged for wider sharing.
We warmly congratulate Deborah on this achievement and thank her for using poetry to highlight the heritage and significance of the Nine Incorporated Trades.
