Baker Trade Celebrates Afternoon Tea Talent

The Baker Trade of Dundee was delighted to support and judge the recent Afternoon Tea Competition held at Dundee and Angus College’s Kingsway Campus Taste Bar, where Patisserie and Confectionery students showcased an impressive range of skills, creativity and professionalism.

Over the course of five weeks, students worked individually or in pairs to design, prepare and present themed afternoon tea experiences. Their entries demonstrated not only technical ability but also a strong understanding of flavour, presentation and customer experience—qualities essential to success in our industry.

Baker Trade members were proud to award prizes to the following talented students:
🥇 Nina Watson – Cocktails and Antipasti
🥈 Courtney Easton & Samuel Gardiner – Spring in Bloom
🥉 Nataliia Sakhnovska & Adam Skinner – Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

Each winning entry stood out for its creativity, execution and attention to detail, reflecting the high standard of training delivered at the college.

As part of our ongoing commitment to nurturing emerging talent, members of the Baker Trade of Dundee were pleased to provide both sponsorship and judging for the competition. Engaging directly with students allowed craft members to share industry insight, offer encouragement and help inspire the next generation of bakers, pâtissiers and hospitality professionals.

The Baker Trade of Dundee look forward to continuing their partnership and supporting further opportunities that help young people develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive in the industry.
