Members of the Baker Trade gathered at the Woodlands Hotel in Broughty Ferry last night for their Annual General Meeting and Dinner, one of the key dates in the Trade’s calendar.

Roy McLellan, outgoing Deacon, passed the chain of office on to Alex Garty LVO. New member, David Goodfellow, was also welcomed into the craft.

Following dinner, Alex Garty LVO proposed the traditional toast to the Nine Incorporated Trades, with a reply and report to be delivered by Deacon Convener Paul Leigh.

Members were entertained by speaker James McKenzie, whose presentation, “The Spy Life”, provided an engaging insight into a unique and fascinating career.

The annual gathering continues a long-established tradition of celebrating the heritage and charitable work of the Baker Trade while looking ahead to the coming year under new leadership.
