On 29th Jan 2026, Deacon of the Dyers Craft of the Nine Trades Wendy Maltman, Charity Convener Dr. Mhairi Towler and craft member Doug Binnie, visited the Dundee Carers Centre to present a donation of £350.
The money was raised through donations at the Dyer’s annual dinner.
Wendy, Mhairi and Doug heard first hand from CEO Neil Campbell and Team Manager Helen Reid how the money would be put towards resources for creative workshops in arts and crafts. Both young carers and adult carers benefit from taking part in these activities run at the centre itself, but also in various localities in Dundee, to help them cope with the pressures they face, learn new skills, and feel part of a supported network. The Dyers were also shown the Dundee Carers Centre tartan, which had been developed as part of their brand to create a sense of belonging.
Future ideas for support from the Nine Trades were discussed.
