Laughter and Libations at New Member Social

Deacons and Trustees of the Nine Incorporated Trades of Dundee welcomed new members at a special wine tasting and curry last night.
In the first ‘New Member Evening’ trade members were given seven wines to sample, complete with tasting notes and expert guidance from Patrick Rohde of Aitken Wines.

With a Portal da Calcada Cuvee Prestige Brut NV from the Vinho Verde region of Portugal on arrival, trade members soon settled into the experience tasting their way through a Sicilian Miopasso Pinot Grigio, a Chateau Oumsiyat Merwah from Lebanon, to an interesting orange wine from the Teliani Valley Winery in Kakheti, Georgia. It was then on to a wine from Dundee’s twin City of Wurzburg in Germany with a Burgerspital Wurzburger Domina, swiftly followed by a delicious Bodegas Portia Roble from the Ribera de Duero region of Spain. The tasting ended with a Lobbon Wines sparkling Shiraz La Pamelita.

Several purchases later, and with Christmas orders completed, members merrily clinked their way to Babu Jees where the fellowship and camaraderie continued. A brilliant night packed with libations and laughter.

Thanks to everyone who came along to what we hope will be the start of many more relaxed and informal Nine Trade gatherings in the future.
