Dyers Supper

The Dyers enjoyed a supper at the Woodlands Hotel on Wednesday 3rd May. Retired City Archivist and Past Deacon of the Cordiners, Iain Flett presented an historic reflection from 330 years and one day ago when the Waulkers and the Dyers became one Trade. Past Clerk Derek Shaw told his story of managing James Keiller and Sons Dundee before eventually setting up his own business, Shaws Dundee Sweet Factory. The evening was rounded off with a specially poem written by ex-Edinburgh City archivist, Arnot Wilson, read by Craft Member Mhairi Towler. It was a very special evening enjoyed by all.
