Deacon of the Cordiner Craft, Becky Jackson Hunt, was at the DJCAD degree show on Friday to present a cheque to Senior Lecturer, Dr Francis Stevenson, for the purchase of leather supplies and dyes to enable students on the textiles course to work with leather.
After previously supporting the jewellery course with a supply of leather, Becky saw the results of that this year. The recipient of the 2025 Cordiner’s craft prize for use of leather was Ruth Calderwood. Ruth showed an innovative use of leather, dying and laser cutting the leather to produce jewellery inspired by wave motion.
