Innes Duffus Memorial Lecture

This year’s Innes Duffus Memorial Lecture took place on Thursday 21st of March at Discovery Point. Naval Architect, Stephen Payne, delivered the lecture to an audience of over 95 people. The title of the lecture was ‘Genesis of A Queen’ based on the design of the Queen Mary II. It was an amazing evening and Stephen passionately unfolded a story of a life long ambition to design a British transatlantic ocean liner. She has served as the flagship of Cunard Line since succeeding Queen Elizabeth II in 2004. The ship was officially named Queen Mary II by Queen Elizabeth II in 2004 after the first RMS Queen Mary of 1936.
